USM Board of Regents to Hold Annual Retreat at Hilton Baltimore BWI Airport Hotel, Sept. 27-28
Adelphi, Md. (Sept. 22, 2010) - The University
System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will hold its annual retreat on Monday,
September 27 and Tuesday, September 28 at the Hilton Baltimore BWI Airport
Hotel. The hotel is located at 1739 West Nursery Road, Linthicum, Md.
The board
will convene and call to order briefly before the public at 4 p.m. Monday. In
compliance with the Maryland Open Meetings Act, the board will announce immediately
that it is reconvening to closed executive session. The public session will
resume at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
During the
public session, the board will hold a discussion of the 2020 USM Strategic
Plan. The regents first will discuss the Strategic Plan generally before
conducting breakout sessions on such core elements of the plan as achieving the
55 percent college completion goal, serving a more diverse population and the
USM as an engine of economic growth.
The
regents will meet in executive session after the public session on Tuesday.
