Adelphi, Md. (June 11,
2010) -- The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents Committee
on Finance at its next meeting will take action on the USM Fiscal Year 2012
Capital Budget Request and FY 2012-2016 Capital Improvement Program. The
committee also will vote on a proposed revision to a board policy regarding
family and medical leave.
The public meeting is scheduled to begin at approximately
10:45 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, in the Alumni Suite of the Physical Education
Complex at Coppin State University, 2500 W. North Avenue, Baltimore, MD.
The finance committee's capital budget recommendations will
be presented to the full board at its meeting scheduled for June 18. Last
month, the committee held its annual capital budget workshop to review and
discuss strategic goals and priorities for the system's capital improvement
program. The presidents of the system's 12 institutions participated.
The vote regarding family and medical leave concerns the
passage of the National Defense Authorization Act, which requires modification
of USM Policy VII-7.50 Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) to include
additional FMLA leave for staff employees with family members in the military.
The committee also will hear an informational review of USM
