USM Regents Finance Committee Meets March 25
Adelphi, Md. (March
22, 2010) - The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents
Committee on Finance at its next meeting will take action on enrollment
projections for 2010-2019 and the facilities master plan update for the
University of Maryland, Eastern Shore (UMES).
The public meeting is scheduled to begin at approximately
10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 25 in the Minnegan Room of the Johnny Unitas Stadium
Field House at Towson University. The committee will meet in closed session at
10 a.m.
The vote on enrollment projections
continues a practice of annual updates from USM institutions on their
enrollment projections for a 10-year period. The overall projected headcount
growth (undergraduate and graduate students) for the 10-year period is 19
percent, an increase from 148,676 to 176,482 students. The committee will vote
on whether to recommend approval by the Board of Regents of the enrollment
projections as submitted.
The UMES facilities master plan
(FMP) update builds upon the 2002 FMP and addresses physical planning aspects
associated with the university's planned growth in new programs and enrollment.
The committee also will take
action on terms for a dental student clinics management contract at the University
of Maryland, Baltimore.
Information items before the
committee include a presentation of the FMP update for the University of

contracts with the USM.
