USM Board of Regents Meets on Friday, June 14

Baltimore, Md. (June 11, 2024) – The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will meet at 8 a.m. on Friday, June 14.

The board will convene at Salisbury University, in the Commons Dining Hall (Dorchester Room, Room 127). The meeting can be accessed via livestream at the following link: https://www.usmd.edu/regents/meetings/livestream.

The board will briefly recognize the winners of the Board of Regents Student Excellence Scholarship, who were honored at a ceremony on May 19. The board will hear an education forum, “AI Enabling Student Support Staff,” presented by Martina Hansen, senior vice president and chief student affairs officer for the University of Maryland Global Campus.

The board will vote on several action items, including new academic programs at several institutions, the fiscal year (FY) 2025 operating budget and the FY 2025 system-funded construction program request.

The board also will hear reports from the councils of university system presidents, faculty, staff, and students.
 
Members of the public who wish to comment during the public comment period of the meeting are asked to email their comments in advance of the meeting to the following email address: regents@usmd.edu.

The final item of the public session will be a vote on whether to reconvene in closed session to discuss items exempted from public consideration under the Open Meetings Act. Exempted items include meetings with two presidents as part of their performance reviews; updates on collective bargaining and the USM branding initiative; Chancellor’s senior staff reviews, and reviews and compensation updates for USM presidents and the Chancellor.
