USM Board of Regents Committee on Audit Meets December 19
Adelphi, Md. (Dec. 17, 2018) – The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents Committee on Audit will meet at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19. The meeting will be held in the Chancellor’s Conference Room in the Elkins Building at the USM Office, 3300 Metzerott Road, Adelphi, MD.
In public session, the committee will discuss several information items. These items include discussion of fiscal year 2018 independent audit of USM’s financial statements and enrollment reports and the independent auditor’s recommendations to management. The committee also will discuss controls over personally identifiable information security and Office of Legislative Audit activity.
The committee then will vote on whether to reconvene in closed session. In closed session, the committee would consider issues specifically exempted in the Open Meetings Act from the requirement for public consideration.
Those issues include legislative audit matters that are ongoing and, therefore, confidential; a discussion of investigative matters that may lead to criminal prosecution; the calendar year 2018 internal audit plan of activity; review of internal audit’s proposed 2019 plan of activity; and the committee’s meeting separately with the independent auditors and director of audit.
