USM Regents Committees on Finance, Economic Development Meet December 7
Baltimore, Md. (Dec. 5, 2018) – The Committee on Finance of the University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will meet on Friday, December 7. The meeting will be held in the multi-purpose room of the Columbus Center, 701 E. Pratt Street, Baltimore. The committee will convene at 10 a.m. with a public vote on whether to reconvene in closed session.
In closed session, the board would discuss the awarding of new contracts for information technology audio-visual hardware and service suppliers.
The committee is scheduled to resume its public session at 10:20 a.m. The committee will hear the opening fall 2018 enrollment and fiscal year 2019 estimated enrollment report.
The committee will vote on a five-year energy system operation and maintenance agreement at the University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP); the Frostburg State University facilities master plan; and a funding increase authorization for the Glen Dining renovation project at Towson University.
At Noon, the Committee on Economic Development and Technology Commercialization will meet in public session and hear presentations regarding USM economic initiatives in Maryland. These include a presentation on featured start-up Ion Storage Systems by founder and CEO Eric Wachsman, director of the Maryland Energy Innovation Institute at UMCP, and an update on UM Ventures with economic development leaders from UMCP and the University of Maryland, Baltimore.
