USM Regents Committee on Education Policy and Student Life Meets September 7 at Universities at Shady Grove
Adelphi, Md. (Sept. 5, 2018) – The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents Committee on Education Policy and Student Life will meet at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, September 7. The meeting will take place in the Multipurpose Room of Building II at the Universities at Shady Grove (USG), 9640 Gudelsky Drive, Rockville, Md.
The committee will vote on approval of 2018 Mission Statements, Goals and Objectives and 2018 Cultural Diversity Progress Reports.
Information items before the committee include a report on academic program actions delegated to the Chancellor during the 2017-18 academic year and an update on USM’s work in the B-Power Initiative to enhance the pipeline from high schools within Baltimore City to USM institutions of higher education, focusing on programs that will enhance student success beyond high school.
As the final public session item, the committee will vote on whether to reconvene to discuss an item exempted from public consideration under the Open Meetings Act. The item concerns an out-of-cycle nomination for an honorary degree.
