USM Regents Finance Committee to Hold Capital Budget Workshop May 22
Adelphi, Md. (May 18, 2018) – The Committee on Finance of the University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will hold its annual capital budget workshop on Tuesday, May 22 to review and discuss strategic goals and priorities for the system’s capital improvement program.
The meeting will be held in the multi-purpose room of the Columbus Center, 701 E. Pratt Street, Baltimore. The board will convene at 9 a.m. with a public vote on whether to reconvene in closed session. In closed session, the board would conduct a work session to begin preparation of the initial Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
The public session is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. In addition to members of the full Board of Regents, the presidents of the system's 12 institutions will participate. The workshop will help prepare the finance committee for its meeting on June 7, when it will consider the FY 2020 capital budget recommendations to present to the full board at the board’s June 22 meeting.
The board will vote on an additional closed meeting at 12:30 p.m. to continue the work session regarding the FY 2020 CIP. At the end of a final 30-minute public session scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m., the board will vote on whether to reconvene for a brief closed session regarding the FY 2020 CIP and closing remarks.
